Hi.
My name is Clint Hagen, and I'm the founder of A Third Way Technologies (a3w). I've been a classroom teacher since 1995, and I am still a full-time teacher. A Third Way is my attempt to re-think our the usual approaches to educational and classroom software by flipping the paradigm. My goal is to produce quality software for teachers and students that comes out of the creativity of those who love teaching and love schools. At the same time, I hope to make the larger world a better place by supporting charitable organizations who do great work.
I believe that:
- Technology in the classroom should be tailored to the needs of each individual school and teacher.
- Centrally developed software should be freely available and provide API access so that versions can easily be built that meet local needs.
- People who are passionate about their subject matter can create and provide for others outstanding electronic resources for schools and classrooms.
